

The Washington State Department of Ecology issues general permits for the application of herbicides to control aquatic weeds in irrigation water conveyance systems. Ecology wrote the last permit in March 2008.
The Washington Department of Ecology (Ecology) is proposing to modify the permit in early 2010 to allow the use of the pesticide endothall.
The public comment period to review and comment on the proposed draft permit is January 7 - February 19, 2010.

During the revision process Ecology used a Permit Advisory Committee to gather input from the stakeholders. Once they completed their reviews, Ecology held a public comment period on the draft permit from November 7, 2007 to January 11, 2008.
