The goals of this task are to (1) improve the loading estimates for certain toxic chemicals, and (2) screen representative discharges for toxic chemicals not routinely monitored. From each of ten publicly-owned treatment works (POTWs), Ecology will collect wet and dry season samples of final effluent for low-level analyses of Priority Pollutant and other emerging toxic chemicals.
Expected Outcome: Improved loading estimates for those toxic chemicals for which there are currently few data, and additional input data to support the operation of the Puget Sound Toxics Box Model.
The Department of Ecology's Water Quality Program will oversee this sub-task.
