Writing a Reclaimed Water Rule for Washington State

On October 12, 2010, Ecology hosted a Reclaimed Water Workshop to discuss permitting of existing facilities to illustrate how Ecology will implement the draft rule through permits. The presentations from this workshop are below.

The 2006 law directed the Department of Ecology (Ecology) to develop and adopt rules on all aspects of reclaimed water use by December 31, 2010. The law also directed Ecology to coordinate with the Department of Health and form a rule advisory committee with a broad range of interested individuals.

The Rule Advisory Committee works in coordination with the Department of Health and the Department of Agriculture.  It includes a broad range of interested parties representing various stakeholder groups, including those potentially affected by the rule and with technical expertise and knowledge of new advancements in technology. All meetings, including work-group meetings, are open to the public.

The following are all the advisory committees formed to help inform the rule-making process.
