Approved as Equivalent to Existing Technologies

Ecology approval of a product as equivalent to existing water quality treatment technologies does not mean that local jurisdictions are required to accept the product for use or allow use within their boundaries. In addition to Ecology approval as equivalent, local jurisdiction approval is also required. Local jurisdictions may choose not to accept products approved as equivalent, or may require additional testing prior to consideration for local use.

The following technologies have been approved by Ecology as equivalent to existing water quality treatment technologies that are currently listed in the 2005 Stormwater Management Manual for Western Washington and/or the 2004 Stormwater Management Manual for Eastern Washington. These technologies did not pass through the Technology Assessment Protocol – Ecology (TAPE) process.
