The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) sponsored a study of stormwater management in collaboration with Ecology and the Stormwater Policy Advisory Committee (SWPAC). The stormwater study focused on relationships between existing activities and opportunities for improvement. The study defined the framework of stormwater management in Washington State and recommended measures that need to be taken to more completely address stormwater management. This report was prepared for Ecology by Herrera Environmental Consultants to compare the difference in cost of complying with the 1992 manual versus Ecology’s revised manual. Additional information on purpose of the report and posting this final draft as well as a link to the report is on the Herrera Cost Analysis webpage. WSDOT Highway Runoff Manual -- 2006
The Washington Dept. of Transportation (SWDOT) published a revision to its Highway Runoff Manual (HRM) in May 2006. The HRM is the guidance document used by WSDOT, engineering consultants, and many local transportation agencies for designing stormwater control systems as part of transportation improvement projects. In conjunction with WSDOT's Hydraulics Manual, the HRM provides tools for highway design engineers to develop functional designs for stormwater collection, conveyance, and treatment systems for state highways, ferry terminals, park and ride lots, and other transportation-related stormwater utilities.
