Sampling for conventional parameters (pH, bacteria, dissolved oxygen, and nutrients) started in late June 2002 and continued through June 2003.
As of mid-October 2002, Ecology sampled seven times at approximately 46
locations along the Walla Walla River (to the state line), the
Touchet River (to
the confluence of north and south forks), Mill Creek (to
the state line), and all
major tributaries. Researchers did not sample in December 2002 or February
2003. Sampling frequency increased again in the spring and early
summer. The researchers could not monitor sites on Pine Creek, West Little
Walla Walla River, and Mill Creek at Roosevelt Street during late summer and
fall 2003 due to lack of water.
The monitoring report was finalized. This document is a compilation of the monitoring data collected but is not the technical study. The data contained in the report is being analyzed and modeled. The technical report on the fecal coliform problem is available at www.ecy.wa.gov/biblio/0503041.html. Work continues on the technical reports for temperature, Dissolved Oxygen and pH.
