Dam Safety

We regulate over 1,000 dams in Washington. Each of these dams stores at least 10 acre-feet (about 3.2 million gallons) of water or watery materials. Our goal is to:
  • Protect Human Life and Property from Dam Failures.
  • Assure Proper Dam Construction, Operations and Maintenance.
