Water Availability in your Watershed/WRIA

An October 2016 Washington State Supreme Court case impacts permit-exempt well use, which may affect some of the information provided on this page.

Contact the nearest regional office for up-to-date water availability information.

There are many factors affecting the availability of water in your watershed.  Also called Water Resource Inventory Areas (WRIAs), Ecology created focus sheets with information about the factors that limit water availability in each of the 62 watersheds/WRIAs in the state.

Originally this project was focused on Pending Applications and Water Availability.  Pending Applications can be viewed and tracked using the Statewide Water Rights Web map, Tracking Water Right Applications, and RSS for New Apps.  This project now focuses on the information we have specific to water availability.

Choose a watershed/WRIA from the list or map below to learn more about water availability in the watershed you are interested in.  If you don't know what watershed you are in, you can use our find a watershed/WRIA by zip code and then come back here to link to your focus sheet.
