02/24/2012 - Ecology is working on updates to all of the Water Availability focus sheets. Originally this project was focused on Pending Applications and Water Availability. Pending Applications can be viewed using the Statewide Water Rights Web map, Tracking Water Right Applications, and RSS for New Apps. The project will now focus on the information we have on water availability and the updated focus sheets will be posted as soon as they are available.
There are many factors affecting the availability of water in Washington State. To help you understand the status of the pending water right applications and information about water availability in your watershed, also called a Water Resource Inventory Area (WRIA), Ecology created focus sheets with information about each of the 62 watersheds/WRIAs in the state. The information provided in the focus sheets describe the number of pending new and change applications, the factors that limit water availability, and other relevant details in that watershed/WRIA.
Choose a watershed/WRIA from the list or map below to learn more about water availability in the watershed you are interested in or use. If you don't know what watershed you are in, you can use our find a watershed/WRIA by zip code.
