Previous Public Participation and Information
Thank you for your interest in this proposed instream flow rule for the Spokane River and Spokane Valley Aquifer. Ecology has adopted the rule. The documents are posted on the rulemaking web page:
The formal public comment period started on September 17, 2014 and ended at 5:00pm on November 7, 2014. The public hearing was held on October 22, 2014 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Center Place Regional Event Center in the Spokane Valley.
A public Open House was held on May 14, 2014 to provide information on the rule-making and discuss preliminary drafts of the rule and rule amendment. Ecology received input on the proposal to develop an instream flow rule to protect the Spokane River. This input was part of the pre-proposal rulemaking phase (CR-101), and was not part of any formal comment period. Input received before the proposed rule language was filed with the Code Reviser's Office was addressed and where appropriate, incorporated into the Draft Rule.
