Based on changes to our Well Construction Regulations in 2006, Ecology will now post an annual report summarizing delegation activities on our website. WAC 173-160-073 states in part "The department will, on an annual basis, review each of the local health jurisdictions or counties, interagency agreements. The review shall include an audit of the construction inspections, decommissioning inspections, enforcement activities, variance decisions, training needs, technical assistance, coordination with drillers and other driller interactions that occurred during the year...."
Local health districts or counties have delegated authority for well sealing and decommissioning as authorized by RCW 18.104.043
