Formula For Active Solids Content
Calculations
BENTONITE WEIGHT DIVIDED BY BENTONITE WEIGHT + WATER WEIGHT:
Pounds of Bentonite /
Pounds of Bentonite + (Gallons of Water x 8.33)
Examples:
- 70.0 gallons water + 100 pounds bentonite = 14.6%
- 68.0 gallons water + 100 pounds bentonite = 15.0%
- 68.3 gallons water + 200 pounds bentonite = 26.0%
- 69.9 gallons water + 250 pounds bentonite = 30.0%
- 70.0 gallons water + 300 pounds bentonite = 34.0%
When mixing it is important to take into account all water used, including water in pipes and pump.
