What else is happening in Puget Sound?

• Puget Sound Partnership
  The South Puget Sound Dissolved Oxygen Study is part of Governor Gregoire’s long-term effort to help restore and preserve Puget Sound.
• Puget Sound Marine Environmental Modeling (PSMEM-C)
  The Puget Sound Marine Environmental Modeling group is a partnership of five academic, governmental and private non-profit organizations that seeks to develop predictive modeling capabilities for the circulation and ecosystem of Puget Sound.
• Puget Sound Assessment and Monitoring Program (PSAMP)
  PSAMP brings together local, state, and federal agencies – coordinated by the Puget Sound Action Team – to assess trends in environmental quality in the Sound.
• Hood Canal Dissolved Oxygen Project (HCDOP)
  The goal of the Hood Canal Dissolved Oxygen Program (HCDOP) is to determine the sources of low dissolved oxygen in Hood Canal and the effect on marine life. Also includes information about the HCDOP scientific study, the Integrated Assessment and Modeling study (IAM Study).

Water Quality Improvement Projects (TMDLs)

• Budd Inlet / Deschutes River Water Quality Improvement Project
  Water quality monitoring and study to determine why measurements of pH, dissolved oxygen, temperature, fine sediment, and fecal coliform in the river were not normal.
• Oakland Bay Water Quality Improvement Project
  Oakland Bay is one of the most important commercial shellfish areas in the country. However, Oakland Bay, Hammersley Inlet and several tributaries failed to meet state water quality standards for fecal coliform bacteria.
