Storming the Sound's new voyage! - We are redesigning the Storming the Sound conference in the southern regions to build strong and diverse leaderships communities of practice in service of students building their sustainable communities.

What: Educator 2 Educator is a one-day conference for environmental and sustainability educators in the South Puget Sound region. This is a great opportunity for informal educators, teachers, environmental organizations with education programs, and students with an interest in a career in environmental education to:

  • Learn about trends and research in integrating Environment and Sustainability education with Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards.
  • Learn from powerful practices of school and environment & sustainability organization partnerships.
  • Contribute to the development of local and regional environment and sustainability education professional learning communities.
  • Learn about developing outdoor field experiences and project-based learning that match student learning requirements.
  • Exchange ideas and experiences to help you develop new perspectives and approaches.

Presentations: Normally, we ask for presentations, but in this first year’s redesign, we are rolling out specific training modules with an interactive approach. We hope to get your feedback as we continue to refine these events.

A more complete web site for the conference with online registration is coming soon! Stay tuned!

Registration: Registration will open by February 15, 2013. The registration fee is $35, which includes lunch, coffee/tea and snacks. (Note: If this fee is an obstacle to attend, please inquire about scholarships, see contact below.)
