About Storming the South Sound Conference
Storming the Sound is a FREE one-day conference for environmental and sustainability educators in the South Puget Sound region. This is a great opportunity for teachers, environmental organizations with education programs, and students with an interest in a career in environmental education to:

• Learn about the wealth of Puget Sound environmental education programs
• Gain practical strategies and tactics you can use to get kids outdoors
• Network with experts and other educators.
• Engage and grow in sessions where everyone is a participant
• Exchange ideas and experiences to help you develop new perspectives and approaches.

Please join us to explore and foster models and best practices for Puget Sound environmental and sustainability education.

Conference Highlights Include:

• Key note address: Presented by Chris Townsend, Special Assistant to the Executive Director of the Puget Sound Partnership
• Participation in Authentic Field Investigation: how to get kids outdoors exploring their environment
• Using Art in Nature: how to combine areas of interest and make the most of observation
• Action Based Projects: how to get kids involved in real world projects that help the environment
• Teaching through story: a creative way to get kids involved in culture, history, ecology and exchanging ideas.

This conference is FREE but we will be collecting a $5 lunch fee at the door (organic box lunch provided). Advance registration is required at the link below. Space is limited, so register early!
