South Sound Science Symposium

Making connections across the ecosystem

Please join us to explore how we can work together to identify and relate changes in South Puget Sound’s ecosystem health across scientific disciplines.

The Symposium will feature speakers and posters that cover a wide range of science topics.

PURPOSE OF SYMPOSIUM

The purpose of the Symposium is to connect the region's scientists on ecosystem issues and questions unique to South Puget Sound. We will explore a variety of topics and relate them back to some central questions:

  • What do these observations mean?
  • Are there changes in the region’s food web?
  • What are the consequences?

REGISTRATION AND CONFERENCE MATERIALS

If you have any difficulty with the registration page,
please contact Heather Trim or John Konovsky.

Following the Symposium, we will compile a brief white paper summary of the presentations, poster abstracts, and institutional fact sheets into a synthesis document that will be available for download from this web site. We will email the registered participants when these documents are available.

ABSTRACTS FOR THE SYMPOSIUM BIBLIOGRAPHY AND POSTERS

Because the Symposium cannot possibly cover all the work being done in South Puget Sound, you have the opportunity to share your scientific work through electronic collection of abstracts and a poster session (abstracts were due February 8). The Symposium invited scientists and technical staff from educational institutions, government and tribal natural resource agencies, nonprofit groups, and the private sector to submit abstracts to the Symposium. All abstracts will be combined into an electronic document and shared.
