- 1. Use ARC Generate command with fishnet option to create a
latitude/longitude grid ranging from latitude 45 to 49 degrees north and
longitude 116 to 125 degrees west by 0.0625 (1/16) degrees.
- 2. Project
to Washington Stateplane south zone, NAD 27.
- 3. Union with quad24
coverage to transfer attributes.
- 4. Reselect quadrangle polygons by item quadcode, which selects four records each time. Each of these records
are selected in order because of how they fall geographically and how
ArcInfo lists them, from northwest to southeast.
- 5. Assign designations
NW, NE, SW, SE to the four selected records, respectively.
