Text Size

If you prefer larger text, we offer several tips below for the browsers most frequently used on this site. These tips do not cover all means available to control the appearance of web pages (e.g. they do not address options at the operating system level). However, these tips do offer several ways to easily exercise more control of the display of many web pages including those on Ecology's site.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.x and 8.x

See the zoom control in the lower right-hand corner of the Internet Explorer window. Click the control to change the zoom level or click the down arrow to select the desired zoom level.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.x

See Tools / Internet Options / Accessibility and check "Ignore font sizes specified on Web pages".

For further control of text size, see View / Text Size.

Firefox

See View / Zoom / Zoom In or press "Ctrl  +".

PDF Documents

A number of documents on Ecology's site are presented in PDF format. These documents are commonly viewed in Adobe Reader which allows users to "magnify" the page as described below.

Adobe Reader

Click on the "Marquee Zoom" tool (the magnifying glass icon on the tool bar) and then click on the document one or more times to increase the zoom level. The magnification level of a page also may be selected directly from the dropdown list in the tool bar.
