Lean Manufacturing

Ecology and Washington Manufacturing Services (WMS) have partnered together to provide lean manufacturing assistance, while consciously incorporating environmental waste into the process.

TREE

Many of Ecology's Hazardous Waste staff and TREE members have worked on these projects. WMS provides lean expertise; Ecology provides environmental expertise.

Cost

Unlike typical TREE projects, these projects are not free. But Ecology has grant funding to defray cost, and is actively looking for interested companies.

History

The first three Lean and Environment projects resulted in: (link)

-- Over 1 million pounds of pollutants reduced.
