Assistance Sheets

• Obtaining State Agency Participation on Your Local Planning Unit. This sheet also explains how state agencies will coordinate as required by the MOU to "speak with one voice".
  
• Watershed Assessment and Water Rights Decisions.  This assistance sheet explains what local planning units can expect from Ecology depending on the watershed assessment and plan that they complete.

2004

• Focus on finishing and using local watershed plans (January 2004) This is a fact sheet on "phase 4" of watershed planning, which is the implementation phase. It addresses the first three phases of planning, what needs to happen to finalize a watershed plan, legislation that addressed implementation, and paying for implementation.
• 2004 Watershed Planning and Instream Flow Setting Progress - 2004 Report to the Legislature (December 2004) This report on the progress of watershed planning and instream flow setting around the state was prepared by the Department of Ecology (Ecology), pursuant to RCW 90.82.043(5) and RCW 90.82.080(6). It describes common findings and recommendations from local watershed planning units, including recommendations for legislative changes to existing statutes. It also describes the status of the state’s most significant work in adopting state administrative rules to put instream flows in place and the programs necessary to protect these flows.
• Update - Eastern Washington Watershed Planning (January 2004)  An occasional update (1-2 times per year) on the status of watershed planning units in the 13 Eastern Washington counties, with articles on what's new in watershed planning statewide. This edition will include the "Focus on finishing and using watershed plans."

2003

• Final EIS for Watershed Planning under Chapter 90.82 RCW (March 2003)
• An Assessment of Watershed Planning - Report to the Legislature (March 2003)  A statewide overview of watershed planning activities 5 years after passage of the Watershed Planning Act and the current status of activities by individual Planning Unit.

2002

• Phase 4 Watershed Plan Implementation Committee - Final Report to the Legislature (December 2002)  Findings and recommendations to legislators, agencies, and planning units on funding needs and strategies for implementing watershed plans.

2001

• Addendum #1 - Guide to Watershed Planning and Management (October 2001)
• Assessment of Watershed Planning  Progress, State Agency Participation, and Instream Flow Setting - OFM Report (October 2001)

1999

• Final Draft Guide to Watershed Planning & Management (January 1999)  This manual was prepared to assist local planning units with meeting the objectives of the Watershed Planning Act.
